I never need an excuse to devour a grilled cheese sandwich. And what better day than today -National Grilled Cheese Day (April 12)! This past Sunday, I was invited to Grand Lux Cafe for brunch. I heard good things about Grand Lux’s mouthwatering Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and was eager to try it. It’s made with slow roasted short rib, caramelized and pickled onions, arugula and melted cheese on grilled country bread, so it was definitely on my to-eat-list.

My friend, Visho recently got engaged. Yay!!It was the first time seeing her since her engagement, so what better way to start off the day, than with Mimosas and Bloody Marys?

Then, this happened…We both tried the Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich:

Ohhh so gooey, messy and scrumptious!

We also enjoyed New Orleans Beignets with cinnamon, raspberry sauce, maple butter sauce, and their special Jack Daniels sauce. Our waitress gave us a great tip to pour the sauces inside the beignets. Yum!
