I was excited when I received an invitation to attend the Jimmy Choo shopping event to support No More Tears. Not only was I looking forward to previewing Jimmy Choo’s Spring Summer 2016 Collection, but I wanted to go out and support a worthy cause and learn more about No More Tears. No More Tears is an amazing non-profit organization that helps victims of domestic abuse via an array of programs.
They assist victims of domestic abuse cover costs such as doctors, immigration attorneys, food, rent, driving lessons, English lessons, and also enroll them in courses that can help them with job placement. Even though No More Tears provides so many valuable services, an incredible fact is that nobody in the organization takes a salary, all funding goes towards helping domestic abuse victims.
So last week I headed over to Jimmy Choo at The Shops at Merrick Park, Coral Gables…

I had the pleasure of meeting Somy Ali. She has a great story. She’s a former Bollywood actress born in Pakistan to an Iraqi mother and Pakistani father. After enduring and also witnessing domestic abuse, she took a stand and used $300,000 of her savings to start her organization, No More Tears. To date, her organization has rescued over 2000 victims of human trafficking and domestic abuse. She’s very passionate about helping women who have experienced or are still experiencing domestic abuse.
The Jimmy Choo / No More Tears was a fun night, and for a great cause; 10% of proceeds were donated by Jimmy Choo to No More Tears. To learn more about Somy Ali’s organization and to learn how you can get involved, visit her website at No More Tears.
