My spa day at InterContinental Miami’s mySpa could not have come at a better time. The past few weeks have been quite hectic, so it was a welcomed opportunity to sit back, relax, and have some “me.” time. I was invited in for a spa day and to experience InterContinental Miami’s mySpa’s new Elemis treatments. I’ve heard and read so many positive things about Elemis, so I was excited to try the skincare line via a spa experience.
Within the skincare domain, Elemis is an award-winning skin care line, and is the #1 luxury British skincare brand. Elemis incorporates advanced cosmetic science and innovative technologies, to deliver superior botanicals and laboratory-made ingredients such as peptides and anti-oxidants. Knowing these facts, I was anxious to experience these high-quality products, and counted down the days till my spa day at InterContinental Miami!
I was given the choice of these 5 treatments:
- Pro Collagen Age Defy Facial
Tackle the fine lines and wrinkles with the clinically proven age defying benefits of marine charged Padina Pavonica and Red Corral. Targeted Massage encourages optimum celluar function for nourished, younger looking skin.
- Renewing Precision Peel
Target the signs of aging and uneven skin tome, this pioneering precision treatment uses layers of enzymes for powerful exfoliation and renewal. A new start for smoother, younger looking skin.
- Vitamin C Facial
Restores even skin tone, targeting unwanted areas of pigmentation. Encapsulated Vitamin C acts as a potent brightener, inhibiting future pigmentation. The result is a more even, color-corrected and illuminated complexion.
- Superfood Pro Radiance
A nutritional boost rich in superfoods and essential minerals designed to pack stressed, dull skin with energizing, detoxifying active ingredients. The result is plumper, radiant skin.
- Ginger & Lime Salt Scrub
The extraordinary cleansing power of salt goes to work releasing toxins in this body polishing treatment. The fragranced salt will gently slough away dead skin cells, encouraging the regeneration of new cells and perfectly prepping the skin to welcome the deeply nourishing body oil leaving skin silky smooth and hydrated.
It was a toss up between the Vitamin C Facial and the Ginger & Lime Salt Scrub. Initially, I leaned towards the Vitamin C Facial due to recently experiencing some uneven skin tone. In the end, I decided to do the Ginger & Lime Salt Scrub. I always get facials when I do a spa day, plus I do them twice a week at home, so I selected something different -the Ginger & Lime Salt body Scrub.
The Hotel: InterContinental Miami Hotel
InterContinental Miami Hotel is located in the heart of the financial and business district of Downtown Miami. Perched on the downtown waterfront, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Biscayne Bay, and cruise ships.
The Spa: mySpa
InterContinental Miami’s mySpa offers the full spa day experience, with 10 spa treatment rooms, their unique SpaJet2 hydro-capsule, a couples suite, as well as private locker rooms with access to saunas, pool, and showers.
As part of my spa day (yours too, if you go!), a complimentary beverage was included (champagne or mimosa), full access to the steam and sauna rooms, relaxation lounge, fitness center, and outdoor pool and deck. And don’t worry about paying for valet parking. Your spa services includes up to four hours of complimentary valet service.
Checking-in with spa director, Caroline.
Once checked-in, I was given the choice between a mimosa and champagne. One mimosa, please!
Before my treatment, I was given a quick questionnaire, so that they can learn more about my skincare needs.

After changing into my robe, I enjoyed some reading and a mimosa. My esthetician came by to get me and escorted me to one of their treatment rooms.
My treatment: Elemis Ginger Lime Salt Scrub
My spa treatment room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. My esthetician (Erika) left the room while I derobed, and wriggled myself under the towels of the treatment table. When she returned, I was already feeling relaxed, listening to the peaceful music in the room.
She first applied a Japanese camellia oil that helped to nourish, hydrate, and lock in moisture. She then lathered my skin with the Ginger & Lime scrub. It smelled divine, and was very invigorating and helped to exfoliate my skin. She followed that with warm towels, and then applied a body cream all over my body to promote firmness, and tightness of my skin. A bonus is that you get a mini-massage during the 50 minute body scrub treatment
As an additional service to the body scrubs, you’ll have the option of doing the 25-minute,” Water Dance Service.” It is done within a hydro-capsule with jets on the bottom and top, and is a nice compliment to a body scrub treatment.

The Elemis Camellia oil was light and very easily absorbed by my skin.
The Elemis Ginger and Lime Scrub had a very refreshing smell, and left my skin feeling super silky and smooth!
BONUS: The body scrub was like a 2-4-1 – it included not only the body exfoliation / scrub, but also a light massage. Can’t beat that!

It was a super relaxing day! All the staff at mySpa were very pleasant and helpful. I liked that having a spa service there, gives you access to their pool, the sauna and steam rooms, relaxation lounges, and even the fitness center. A spa service at InterContinental Miami also includes complimentary valet parking for up to four hours. I especially enjoyed my treatment with Erika. She was very warm, made me feel comfortable, and my treatment was very effective. My skin was super smooth and soft for days, even after my treatment. I absolutely look forward to returning!
Thanks to InterContinental Miami for inviting me, and sponsoring this post!
