Without further ado, this is what we had:The wedge salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, crispy bacon, blue cheese dressing, and sunflower seeds. I’m typically not a salad person, but this salad had all the right flavors, and resulted in a thumbs up from me. Blood Mary: thick-bodied and very refreshing.Mimosa: good ol’ classic mimosa -juicy and refreshing.Speaking of mimosas. Linda getting her mimosa personally served by Robinson! Oooh, boy! I really, really enjoyed eating this Eggs Benedict. Eggs Benedict is a weakness of mine, and they did not disappoint.Fried Chicken and Waffles with truffle honey and coleslaw. Then. Came Dessert. It was truly love at first bite! The Baklava with fruit cake, and vanila ice cream, was the perfect marriage of creamy, flaky, fresh-from-the-oven goodness!

Mr. Kream is a relatively new addition to Wynwood (opened in February 2017), and is a welcome addition to Wynwood’s eclectic art and food scene. Wynwood’s newest ice cream shop offers different ice cream flavors and combos, named after rappers and hip hop artists.

Appropriately named Mr. Kream Ice Cream Lounge, you can visit this lounge on Fridays and Saturdays as late as 3am, to enjoy frozen treats, beer, wine, mimosa popsicles, and DJ-spun tunes. They are also open from 11am-10pm, Monday-Thursday.

Ic cream flavors include A$AP Rocky Road, Fat Joe Pistachio, Snoopstachio, and one of their most popular flavors: 2 Live Blue. You can also choose from sundaes with names like The Fat Boy. Next time I visit, I’ll definitely be trying their Oreo Bread Pudding Sundae (two of my top loves – bread pudding and oreos, yeah).

Miami Spice ranges from August 1st – September 30, and is the perfect time to experience three-course meals by top chefs at reduced prices: Lunch/Brunch for $23 and Dinner for $39.

Last week, I was invited to experience BLT Prime’s Miami Spice dinner menu. BLT Prime is located inside the prestiguous / spectacular 800 acre Trump National Doral near Miami International airport, and overlooks the historic Blue Monster golf course with amazing views of a water fountain and a well-manicured lawn.

We sat inside, but later ventured to their outside seating to experience an amazing sunset from their verandah.

If you follow me on Instagram, you already saw a sneak peek of my Miami Spice experience at BLT Prime. Here are all the juicy details from that night…

Our evening started off with these enormous airy, and soft puffs, called popovers. They are BLT Prime’s version of bread rolls, and oooh so addictive! They gave us a recipe card to try them at home. Our appetizers were Heirloom Tomato Carpaccio (with truffle balsamic glaze, crispy shallots, and micro greens) and Hamachi Sashimi (with avocado, breakfast radish, and chili yuzu dressing).  Our main courses were: Grilled Flat Iron Steak (with barbeque corn, and bacon chimichurri), Roasted half Chicken (bourbon maple dust, rosemary, and lemon preserves) and Seafood Bouillabaisse (shrimp, clam, branzino, and saffron potatoes).  

For dessert, we enjoyed 3 Leches (strawberries & meringue), Chocolate Pot de Cremè (raspberries and mint chantilly cream), and Tiramisu (coffee mousse and chocolate spongecake).

BLT Prime’s Miami Spice menu is definitely worth experiencing.  I loved every aspect of their Miami Spice menu. If you enjoy steak, seafood, and chicken, you’ll get your money’s worth, and then some with the $39 Miami Spice menu. I can’t wait to go back!

The wine tasting event was curated by Master Sommelier Michael Jordan and featured a variety of Chardonnays: Freemark Abbey, Napa Valley 2015; Chateau Montelena, Napa Valley 2014; Kistler, Les Noisetière, Sonoma Coast 2014.

Reds such as: Shiraz Molly Dooker “The Boxer” Australia 2015; Pinot Noir Gran Moraine, Yamhill-Carlton District, Willamette Valley 2013; Cabernet Sauvignon, Caymus, Napa Valley 2014; and Carménère, Montes, Purple Angel, Colchagua Valley, Chile 2013.

Upon entry, we were warmly greeted and treated to a bubbly glass of  champagne (Nicolas Feuillate Blanc de Blanc, France)

The day started out beautifully;a breathtaking view, champagne, wine, delicious appetizers, and an eager crowd of wine enthusiasts.

There was a wide variety of hors d’oeuvres featuring a raw bar of east and west coast oysters with passion fruit mignonette, and green papaya slaw, ceviche, tuna tartare, and stone crabs. For the meat lovers, they served Ancho Rubbed Tomahawk Rib Eye, and Braised Short Rib atop Smoked Mashed Potatoes, and Piquillo Pepper Sofrito. Everything was superbly appetizing. My personal favorite was the spread of domestic and international cheeses, and charcuterie.

  Night is coming!

Be sure to add The Rusty Pelican Restaurant in Key Biscayne to your list. Try to get a table on the patio and enjoy an amazing sunset, a dynamic waterfront view, view of Downtown Miami, bird watching, and great food!

We arrived early to take photos of the general River Yacht Club area. There was unique art, a bar and dining area, and of course a stunning waterfront view!

Dashi is Miami’s newest fine dining waterfront restaurant, and is headed by former executive sushi chef, Shuji Hiyakawa of Kuro Japanese Restaurant in Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL. Dashi is set to open on March 24 at The River Yacht Club.

Things started off with this absolutely delicious Moscow Mule ( I had three – dont judge!). It’s called the Deep Eddy Mules, and so refreshing!

Definitely one of my favorite dishes – the Tuna Poke. It’s a fresh and tasty combination of avocado, cucumber, mango, macadamia and crispy plantain. Yes!

Lobster Mac n Cheese – so creamy and sooo good!

Favorite dessert was the Chocolate Trilogy. The menu description reads: Oreos baked between chocolate chip cookie dough and fudge brownie, blackberry carbernet sorbet and chocolate ganache. Yum!

If you love great seafood in an upscale dining setting by the seaside (who doesn’t/?), do yourself a favor and visit Oceans234.  This is definitely a wonderful option for Valentine’s Day! Their menu is expansive and includes a wide variety of appetizers, sushi, seafood entrees, and cocktails, with a side of ocean view. They are located 234 North Oceans Boulevard in Deerfield Beach. Enjoy!

Sandi Land – The City of West Palm Beach will extend the Sandi Land light shows on New Year’s Eve starting from 6:15 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The show will take place every 15 minutes so families can bring in the New Year with Sandi.

Rock The Block at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort – Boca Raton Resort & Club will ring in the New Year with its fourth annual Rock the Block celebration, an over-the-top New Year’s Eve block party offering live music from hip-hop performer Jay Sean, pop singer Taylor Dayne, and hit duo Nico & Vinz.  This event is open only to resort guests and club members.

At 9 p.m. Same choices but prices increases to $195, $295 and $320

Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita. Highlights: Open bar (from 8pm-12am) and buffet for $90 per person from 8-11:30 p.m. Kids 12 and under eat for $50. $350 will buy you your choice of a bottle Kettle One, Moet Imperial Brut, Johnnie Walker Black, Don Julio or Blanco Ron Zacapa 23 Yr. Ladies special: $25 for unlimited champagne.

Downtown Miami:

InterContinentalHotel: Toro Toro Restaurant will be offering a prix fixe menu with a bottle of wine for each couple. First dinner seating starts at 6 p.m. ($232.72), $116.35 for children. The second dinner seating starts at $332.45

The Bluewater restaurant at InterContinental will offer a six-course meal. Couples will receive a bottle of red or white wine and champagne.

PB Station: located in the Langford Hotel, you can choose between a dinner seating at 7 p.m. or 9:30 p.m.

7:00 p.m.: $175 per person with bottle of Moët & Chandon Imperial Champagne
9:30 p.m.: $225 per person with wine pairing and bottle of Vintage Moët & Chandon and VIP access to Pawn Broker.

Toscana Divino: Prix fixe, family style menu at $100 per person. Menu will be seafood inspired and will include scallops, lobster ravioli, carpaccio, and more.

Miami Beach:

Bianca Restaurant at the Delano Hotel: Four-course dinner followed by a Winter Wonderland celebration. Enjoy aquatic performances, fanciful installations, and beats from DJ Smeejay.

Broward County:

JWB Prime Steak and Seafood at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort: Enjoy a five-course menu for $175, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. or an a la carte menu starting at 6 p.m. The prix fixe menu includes pan-seared scallops atop English pea puree; seafood stew of clams, mussels and shrimp, and wine-poached pear with moscato zabaglione.

Kuro Restaurant in Seminole Hard Rock Casino: Enjoy a Japanese omakase-style tasting menu ($150 per person). Items on the menu include sushi, salmon with caviar, wagyu with white truffle and more. Champagne toast at 12am. Music provided by DJ Romina Gentilini till 1am.

Grille 401: Grille 401 New Year’s Eve specials include: veal osso bucco with wild mushroom jus and truffle risotto ($39), jumbo Florida stone crabs served with housemade mustard and sweet potato fries ($75), and more.

Palm Beach County:

50 Ocean – Savor the most noteworthy night of the year on the beach at the award-winning 50 Ocean in Delray Beach on New Year’s Eve from 5 p.m. to midnight, with the last seating at 10 p.m. Executive Chef Joe Bonavita, Jr. will be showcasing a sumptuous, holiday-inspired feast to enjoy with friends and family on New Year’s Eve. A regular dinner menu will also be available on New Year’s Eve.

Avocado Grill – Continue the holiday celebration on New Year’s Eve with Avocado Grill’s regular menu until 8 p.m. From 9 p.m. to11:30 p.m. Chef Julien Gremaud has planned a special late-night meal for $119 per person with four exceptional courses and a delicious glass of champagne.

Hilton West Palm Beach’s Galley restaurant –  This James Bond-themed party will include special-themed cocktails including The 007 vodka martini – shaken not stirred, and many other fun options. Guests can count down to midnight around the warm fire pits as high-speed Bond chases are broadcasted on-screen around the nautical-themed bar and restaurant. The event is open to the public and includes a champagne toast at midnight and music.

PGA National Resort & Spa’s Ironwood Steak & Seafood – Enjoy a gourmet, four-course dinner Saturday, December 31 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The gourmet four-course dinner, will be followed by an iBar celebration with DJ, dancing and a balloon drop at midnight in iBar’s luxurious lobby lounge. Early seating is $95 and the later seating is $129. The public is welcome. Complimentary valet parking with iBar/Ironwood receipt.

Spoto’s Oyster Bar – Take a quick trip to seafood paradise, and welcome in the New Year at the award-winning Spoto’s Oyster Bar in Palm Beach Gardens. Enjoy a holiday-inspired menu bursting with sea-to-table starters, and “soul food” favorite entrees. New Year’s Eve dinner hours are 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Chesterfield Hotel’s New Year’s Eve Gala at the Leopard Lounge – Enjoy the annual glittering and glamorous Gala Dinner on Saturday, December 31, featuring a mouthwatering four-course New Year’s menu. The cost to attend the first seating, which takes place at 6 p.m., is $140 per person. The cost to attend the second seating (8:30 p.m.) is $225, and includes dancing, live entertainment, party favors and a Champagne toast at midnight. Reservations are required, as well as jackets and ties for gentlemen.

 The Cooper – Ring in the New Year at this farm-to-table hot spot as Executive chef Adam Brown showcases a holiday-inspired menu that epitomizes superb, fresh flavors and a deliciously fierce sense of sustainability. A regular dinner menu will also be available. New Year’s Eve hours are 11:30 a.m. to midnight.

Vic & Angelo’s – Making culinary resolutions come true on the most nostalgic night of the year, Vic & Angelo’s in Palm Beach Gardens invites you to come out to enjoy a four-course prix fixe feast on Saturday, December 31. The prix fix menu is $85 per person, not including tax and gratuity. Limited dinner menu available on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. New Year’s Eve hours are 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Built in the 1950s, The Vagabond Hotel was a favorite hangout spot for Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Frank Sinatra. Wanting to be true to their retro vibe, I put together a retro inspired polka dot halter dress, white retro sunglasses, (similar), white wedges, with a pearl necklace and pearl bracelet. Host of the event, Montserrat Franco and Voga Italia Territory Manager. We laughed when we met, because her name is Montserrat, and I am from the Caribbean island, Montserrat.

We did not eat at the restaurant, but we browsed around the Vagabond Kitchen & Bar, and was quite entertained by Fernando.
